More About The Author

Hello and Welcome!

I am really terrible about writing about myself but since you want to know more, I will try. As you have probably seen on my mini bio, I grew up in a large family and from a very early age til I was in Jr High, we lived overseas. It was an interesting way to grow up and the experiences are ones I am grateful for. Being the youngest of 4 children, I learned to entertain myself early on and my imagination was always there to aid in that endeavor. Ever since I can remember, coming up with stories and characters has always just been a part of the way my imagination works.

As I grew up and began to read my stories became more fluid and I began to have an itch to write. This developed into fan fiction writing, short stories, poetry, and the development of Into Other Worlds, a writing based Role Playing site that I and 4 other girls – Margaret, Hilary, Charlotte, and Teresa –  started. It wasn’t until Starting Into Other Worlds that I truly let myself discover the wonderful freedom and exhilaration, that is writing. As we dove into different characters, and settings, and worlds, I fell madly in love with writing. Oh, I’d always been a fan of writing but the stories we wove and created together made me truly, fully, and deeply fall for writing.

I came up with the vague idea for After Bridges Burn while Into Other Worlds was still active, though back then there were 6 siblings and Jackson’s name was inexplicably Sarge. Don’t ask. It took me a good 9 years to take that sort of outline and many, MANY, drafts to finally mold and shape my first novel into what it is today. Writing is my passion but it is also, I have learned, a lot of hard work.

Not sure what else you might want to know about me. As well as writing I love to sing, snowboard, I dabble in painting, and I am usually listening to an audiobook when I have to adult and clean the house or do the laundry. I’m a bit of a goofball, and I love to spend time with family and friends. That’s about all for me. Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me better.

Have a wonderful day,

Meran
